Warehouse Storage for U-Haul

U-Haul had an existing storage building onsite that was not capable of its full use. They were looking to demolish the existing building and building new steel building in its place for storage.

Global Construction was contracted to as the general contractor and worked with the U-Hauls corporate representative offering complete services with various changes along the project.

This commercial steel building included the following

- Asbestos abatement on old building
- Demolition and removal of existing building on site
- Extensive earthwork for access and egress for forklift vehicles and fire lane
- Building structure was 30'to maximize U-Box containers
- Concrete foundation along with new curbs and asphalt site access
- LED lighting with sensors for occupancy
- Non conditional storage with continuous peak roof vent to accommodate air flow
- Extensive fire suppression system due to low water volume, installation of dry system for items in storage
- New storm water containment system with over flow capabilities
- New asphalt
- Provided other services as required by U-Haul from the City of Prescott

U-Hauls new building was a success with various challenges along the way. The building location required a lot of excavation and in doing so found an abandoned tank underground.

We worked very closely with our client during the whole process and in the end received a building that better suited there operations.
